Senior DevOps Engineer

With it, retailers can enable this next-generation mobile payment with one click.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate DevOps Engineer to join the driven and ambitious Focalpay-team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment processes for our cloud-based platform. You will be working with a high-performance team with top tier competence in retail and development technologies. The position is placed at Focalpay’s headquarters in Stockholm city and you will be reporting to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and implement effective DevOps practices
• Design, build, and manage the deployment pipeline, focusing on automated processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring scalability, high availability, and security
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues promptly
• Ensure the integrity and reliability of the platform's infrastructure, including backup and disaster recovery plans
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiency, reliability, and security
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong proficiency with cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Extensive experience with containerization using Kubernetes
• Solid programming skills in Java, and familiarity with Spring Boot framework
• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React and Vue.js
• Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
• Strong knowledge of system administration and network fundamentals
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Ansible
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Strong focus on security best practices and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
